According to JobsOhio’s September 28 announcement, The HC Companies, Inc., doing business as Growscape, will retain 386 existing positions while adding the new roles. The Middlefield plant moved to 24/7 operations in August, while a 750,000-square-foot warehouse opened in October 2025.
Middlefield becomes a larger operating hub
The expansion is tied to what the company describes as growing demand across greenhouse, nursery and retail markets. New hiring is expected to support both production and the warehouse operation, extending the role of the Middlefield campus in Growscape’s North American supply network.
The Ohio Department of Development approved tax-credit assistance for the project. JobsOhio, Team NEO, the Village of Middlefield and Geauga Growth Partnership are also involved in supporting the expansion.
