Beijing orchid grower cultivates Phalaenopsis in five new smart greenhouses

Jingke Yunxin's roughly 2-hectare protected-growing facility in Mentougou is producing plants, while its 600,000-pot annual target remains a forecast.

Beijing Jingke Yunxin Agricultural Technology is cultivating Phalaenopsis orchids in five smart greenhouses at a new floriculture base in Mengwu village, in the Chinese capital’s Mentougou district. The structures cover approximately 20,000 sq m (2 hectares), according to first-hand local reporting published on 13 October 2026 by Mentougou Rongmei through the Beijing News platform.

The greenhouse facilities have been built and orchids are already undergoing cultivation and flower forcing. The reported capacity target is 600,000 finished potted plants annually, with an estimated annual production value exceeding CNY 12 million. Both figures are forecasts for the developing operation, not verified sales or output already achieved.

Five houses on a larger site

The wider flower-growing base occupies approximately 43 mu of land, equivalent to about 2.9 hectares. That land figure should not be confused with the smaller, roughly 2-hectare area covered by the five smart greenhouse structures. The report describes more than six months of construction and investment in energy-saving equipment, with dozens of Phalaenopsis varieties now under cultivation.

The site is in Junzhuang town, Mengwu village, within Mentougou in western Beijing. A grower interviewed on site described returning to work locally after hearing about the greenhouse development.

Production goals and local sales plans

According to the same original report, orders associated with the 2027 Lunar New Year flower market were already close to fully reserved at the time of reporting. It also anticipates opportunities for more than 90 local jobs as the business develops; that is a proposed employment impact, not a verified current headcount.

Company representative Zhang Zongping described possible future expansion and additional local retail and marketing initiatives. A second phase is being explored, but the report does not establish that it has secured funding, planning consent or a construction start.

What the capacity signal means

For suppliers of greenhouse climate equipment, young plants and commercial floriculture systems, the notable development is a named operator with physical growing capacity now in use near Beijing. The main commercial milestones to watch are whether the house group reaches its stated annual pot volumes, what sales channels it secures, and whether a separate second phase progresses beyond consideration.

Key takeaways

  • Jingke Yunxin has five built smart greenhouses covering roughly 2 hectares in Beijing’s Mentougou district, with orchid cultivation underway.
  • The 600,000-pot yearly output and more than CNY 12 million production value are future targets, not reported achieved figures.
  • Further expansion is under consideration; no confirmed second-phase commitment was reported.
