Gönen greenhouse zone reviews infrastructure preparation and tenders

The Turkish project owner confirms procurement preparation, while September plot offers provide dated investor pricing rather than operating capacity.

Four participants at the Directorate General of Agricultural Reform

Gönen Sera Organize Tarım Bölgesi in Balıkesir, Turkey, has reviewed ongoing infrastructure investment, fieldwork and forthcoming tenders with the Directorate General of Agricultural Reform, the project organisation said in its 29 September update. The confirmed development concerns project preparation, rather than the start of greenhouse production.

The official account of the meeting identifies Director General Dr Osman Yıldız and says technical and administrative preparations were discussed. It does not announce a tender award, completed infrastructure or an operational greenhouse.

Plots remain part of the investor offer

A separate 17 September owner announcement advertised continuing plot sales. It listed three remaining first-phase greenhouse plots at TRY2,500–3,000 per square metre and second-phase greenhouse or industrial plots at TRY2,000–2,500 per square metre.

Those figures describe the offer at that date. They are not completed transaction prices, and the announcement does not establish how many plots remain available on 6 October.

Serviced land is the next business milestone

For prospective greenhouse investors, the distinction between an offered plot and a serviced site matters. The owner’s update places infrastructure and procurement preparation ahead of confirmed production. Suppliers can follow subsequent tender notices and awards for evidence of contracted work.

The two updates do not establish a firm investor handover date, net growing area or individual greenhouse commissioning schedules. Tender completion and infrastructure delivery therefore remain milestones to verify before treating the zone as new operating capacity.

Key takeaways

  • The owner confirms infrastructure and procurement preparation in its 29 September update.
  • September plot offers distinguish first-phase greenhouse land from second-phase greenhouse or industrial land.
  • Contract awards, infrastructure delivery and greenhouse commissioning remain to be verified.
