TTA-ISO buys Demtec brand and selected assets; production restart undecided

TTA-ISO has bought the Demtec brand, drawings, IP and parts, but unfinished orders and old liabilities remain outside the transaction. Production restart is under review.

Dutch horticultural automation supplier TTA-ISO has acquired the Demtec brand and selected technical assets following the insolvency of the Belgian machinery business behind it. The purchase does not include that company’s unfinished machines or earlier contractual liabilities, and a restart of Demtec machine production has yet to be arranged.

The buyer has obtained the brand, some intellectual property, engineering drawings, spare parts and inventory, according to GroentenNieuws’ 13 October report, which includes statements from TTA-ISO executive Peter Rietveld. The Demtec name is intended to remain a separate brand within TTA-ISO’s portfolio.

What TTA-ISO has acquired

Demtec equipment serves production nurseries through operations including potting, tray filling, substrate handling, sowing, watering and internal transport. TTA-ISO develops automation for horticultural production lines; combining the equipment ranges could give customers more steps in a single connected workflow. That is the buyer’s stated commercial rationale, not a completed integration of every product or service.

The companies were already familiar with one another. In June 2025, TTA-ISO became Demtec’s exclusive dealer in Oceania, covering Australia and New Zealand. The new asset purchase goes beyond that distribution relationship, but it is not a takeover of the former Belgian operating company.

Constructie Werkhuizen Demaitere BV, based in Moorslede, Belgium, was declared bankrupt on 27 August 2026, according to a reproduction of the Ghent commercial court’s notice. The public court record establishes the insolvency, while the reported scope of the later asset purchase comes from the buyer’s statements.

Spare parts and unfinished customer orders

The acquired inventory includes spare parts for Demtec machines. TTA-ISO is examining how to organize future manufacturing capacity, service and technical support for the installed equipment base, rather than announcing that production has already resumed. The company says future parts and service will be supplied under its own terms.

The distinction matters for nurseries with machines on order. Equipment still under construction is excluded from the deal, as are the predecessor’s existing contractual obligations and liabilities. Customers with outstanding orders or advance payments are to receive separate information, according to the GroentenNieuws account. The asset purchase therefore should not be understood as a guarantee that those orders will be fulfilled by TTA-ISO.

Next decision for commercial nurseries

For operators considering Demtec machinery or maintaining an installed line, the immediate signal is continuity of the brand and access to a reported parts stock, not confirmed resumption of machine deliveries. Production arrangements and the practical reach of after-sales support remain the next developments to watch. Buyers with historic commitments to the insolvent company need to distinguish those claims from any new agreement made with TTA-ISO.

Key takeaways

  • TTA-ISO reports acquiring the Demtec brand and selected intellectual property, drawings, spare parts and inventory, not the entire former company.
  • Production restart and future technical-service arrangements are still being evaluated.
  • Unfinished machines and historic customer contracts or liabilities are excluded from the asset purchase.
