Ridder brings Gremon Trutina plant data into Hortimax controls

Ridder and Gremon now connect crop weight, uptake and drainage measurements in Hortimax Plus and Pro, with commercial performance gains still unverified.

Greenhouse technology suppliers Ridder and Gremon Systems have made plant-level measurements from Gremon’s Trutina system available in Ridder’s Hortimax Plus and Hortimax Pro greenhouse climate-computer environments. Both suppliers announced the integration on 29 September 2026. The connection is an available product capability, not an announcement of a new greenhouse building or an independently verified rise in crop yields.

Gremon’s original release says growers can view Trutina data alongside climate information and other readings in one interface. The data include plant weight, water uptake, biomass development and drainage. Measurements can be charted over time, combined with other connected sensor data and exported for further analysis.

Plant measurements alongside climate-control information

Climate computers already manage heating, ventilation, humidity and irrigation-related conditions, but these measurements alone do not show every aspect of plant response. Gremon’s Trutina system supplies complementary crop-level data, and the announced integration provides a way to consult the two sets of information together.

Ridder’s supplier announcement positions the integration as part of an open platform for greenhouse sensors and management software. Gremon also offers a separate Risk Reduction Report analytics service; that should not be mistaken for evidence that Hortimax itself now autonomously controls irrigation based on Trutina measurements.

Where growers may use the combined data

Operators working with Hortimax Plus or Pro can examine crop-weight trends and drainage patterns in the same broader operational context as climate management. That could help advisers compare irrigation treatments, identify unexpected crop responses and track repeated growing cycles.

The benefit remains a potential workflow improvement rather than a proven financial outcome. Neither supplier has published an independently validated yield uplift, water reduction, labour saving or return on investment attributable to this integration. No count of live greenhouse installations has been established in the announcements.

Availability and remaining questions

Gremon says the integration is available for Hortimax Plus and Pro. Pricing, licensing, customer installation numbers, support for other controller versions and the commercial results of deployed integrations were not specified.

Key takeaways

  • Trutina plant weight, uptake and drainage readings can now be seen in Hortimax Plus and Pro.
  • The integration unites crop-response and climate data for greenhouse operators and advisers.
  • Claims of improved yield, reduced costs or autonomous crop control have not been independently substantiated.
